Karen Taft-Sheeran
Owner/Director
I have more than 35 years child care experience and before opening Squiggles in 2011 I was a registered child minder in Hagley since 1999. Over the years I have cared for scores of children, while looking after my own three children. I have an NVQ 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and Cordon Bleu Cookery Diploma. When I’m not working I love walking my two labradoodles and spending time with my family.

Hi, I’m Abi and I am the manager here at Squiggles! I am Karen and Pauls daughter and have been involved in the nursery since it opened in 2011. Even when I was that young, I knew this was going to be the career I wanted to go into. I have worked my way up throughout the years starting as an apprentice and now having a degree in Early Years. My passion for children shows throughout the nursery and through the amazing team we have here! I strive to make this a home from home for all the families, children and staff at Squiggles!
Nathan Booker
Pre-School Room Leader/Deputy Manager
Level 3
Hey, I’m Nathan, our preschool room leader. I’ve worked at Squiggles since 2019 and wouldn’t be anywhere else! I love how Squiggles is like one giant family and being a part of it has always been a great pleasure. I’ve always had a passion in working with children and love being a key part in the growth of these amazing little people. I love teaching the children new things and seeing how happy and proud they are when they have accomplished something.
Chloe Roden
Baby Room Leader/Deputy Manager
Chloe joined us as an apprentice 5 years ago. She holds her Level 3 in childcare and has worker her way up to baby room leader and now Deputy Manager. She creates strong bonds with the babies and brings so much nature to the baby room!
Fran Gilday
Toddler Room Leader
Level 3
Hi, my names Fran and I’ve been a part of the Squiggles since 2018! I am the room leader for our wonderful toddlers ranging between 2-3 years old. In the toddler room we focus on exploring our feelings safely in our environment and also learning to become independent little people, but our main focus is making sure we always have lots of fun whilst learning at Squiggles!!
May Felton
Nursery Practitioner
May has completed her Level 3 in Early Years. She works alongside Chloe in the baby room. May is known for creating amazing tuff trays for the babies and loves getting messy!
Katie Guthrie
Nursery Apprentice
Katie is undertaking her Level 2 in childcare. She mainly works in the Toddler room but is gaining experience in all rooms.
Gracie Dunn
Nursery Apprentice
Gracie is currently undertaking her Level 3 in Early Years. She mainly works in the baby room but is gaining experience in all rooms.
Davina Wilkes
Chef
Davina holds a Level 3 in Early Years and Education as well as a cookery diploma.She provides nutritional meals and snacks for the children and cooks everything fresh onsite!

Ruth Dunn
Afterschool Club Leader
Ruth runs our afterschool club. She picks up the children from school and plans fun activites for them as well as helping with homework!
Tara Dingley-Moore
Nursery Practitioner Bank
Tara has worked with us for over 8 years. She has reduced her working time to spend more time with family but loves to come back and help when she can. The children and staff love seeing her!
